Dave Tonner was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. In 1984 he came out west
to work as an airframe technician with the Canadian Armed Forces in Cold Lake
Alberta. During this time the Lord revealed himself to Pastor Dave and
he felt the call to ministry. In 1989 he left his career to go to Canadian
Bible College in Regina. He spent some time at home helping his family
recover from a family crisis and through mutual friends met his wife, Jillane,
who was born in Edmonton, Alberta and grew up predominantly in the Peace River
area. David and Jillane maintained a long distance dating relationship and
were married in 1994. They moved to Consort, Alberta where Jillane was
teaching school. Over the next few years, Dave worked in various fields of construction, Chrysler and GM service departments and for the last four years he worked for Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Throughout the years Dave and Jillane have been extremely active in their local churches, working in leadership, worship, sound, small groups, Sunday School and children's ministries. They have currently been married for 13 years and have three beautiful gifts from the Lord- two girls ages 8 and 6 and a boy who is 17 months- with a fourth child on the way! Dave and Jillane felt the Lord strongly renew their vision for full time ministry in the fall of 2006. Dave pursued the call, completed some courses, applied for and was fully accredited with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. The Tonners are thrilled to be part of the God's work at Shaunavon Alliance Church. |
